Cooking Style: Pasta with Chicken

Happy Monday!

I made this great pasta dish last week. I really missed cooking! I have never been a good cook at all. But last year I started cooking a lot more and I actually got better. Funny how that happens! Practice does make perfect. One of my favorite cooking sites is Skinnytaste. I made a pasta dish that is similar to this recipe. I substituted chicken for sausage and did not use escarole. Hubby was really impressed and we all enjoyed it!

Weekend Style: Casual with pearls

Happy Sunday!
I went to Mad Potter with great friends last night. We celebrated a friend's birthday, and had a great time hanging out with the girls. I wanted to wear something casual, with a twist of elegance. There is nothing more elegant than pearls! Ok, maybe diamonds : ) I am trying to define "my style" and I've decided that I'm truly just a casual girl, chasing some elegance. Hence my new blog title that I'm still playing around with. I've been going through Pinterest and other blogs to find my favorite looks. I've said it before that one of my favorite work looks is a t shirt, blazer and pencil skirt combo.
What is "your style"? What are some of your favorite combinations?

Weekend Style: Hot pink and stripes

Happy Monday!
Here is another weekend look. Yes, it means I'm now getting dressed most mornings. = ) I'm loving the casual t shirt and skirt look , but decided to try my boyfriend jeans instead. I found this shirt at Kohl's. Yes, it's another LC by Lauren Conrad top. It was only $14 (+ 30% off!), so I bought it in 2 colors. Stripes and polka dots are still going strong for pre fall, but it's still very much summer in Houston.

Weekend Style: Cobalt and polka dots

Hi friends,
I finally have an outfit to show you all! At almost 6 weeks post birth of my twins. I don't know how mommy bloggers look so great right after the birth of their baby. I'm still not cleared to work out until next week, and I'm looking forward to that for many reasons.
I wore this outfit to the movies last night with the hubby. It was a little dressed up but after wearing my mommy outfit all day (pjs), it's great to look for an excuse to get dressed up. I stopped by Kohl's and bought a few things. It was also great to get out of the house and do a little shopping. I am so glad polka dots are still going strong. I have lost count on all the polka dot tops I have, but I'm glad I found this blouse from LC Lauren Conrad.

Thanks for reading,

Ps By the way, our 4 year old took the last 2 pictures!

Life Style: Twins' Announcement and 1 month old photo shoot

Stationery Card
View the entire collection of cards.

I finally was able to take pictures of the twins today with Jayden. Here are the pictures from their 1 month photo shoot. They'll be 1 month on Friday already! I was going to go with a professional photographer, but I wanted to see if I could do it. I loved the way the pictures came out, even if they are not perfect. I loved taking pictures of my 3 babies! And I love challenging myself to get back into photography. I used Adobe Lightroom to edit, but I am looking into buying Photoshop.
What do you use to edit your pictures?

Life Style: Twins' Nursery

Here are a few pictures from the twins' nursery. It is my favorite room of the house. I love how it turned out! I had a lot of help from my mom, sister and aunt. Could not have done it without them, especially since they did most of it while I was in the hospital on bed rest.
All 5 of us are doing well. We are getting used to the routine but the sleepless nights times 2, is no easy task. None the less, our little miracles are a huge blessing!

I'll update with links where everything came from soon.

Life Style: 10 years!

B and I are celebrating 10 years of marriage! I can't believe it has been 10 years already! We have truly grown up together and have cherished so much through the last 10 years. I wouldn't trade any moment and look forward to many more years of wedded bliss = ) We celebrated with one night away at a great hotel here in Houston. He has been the most amazing husband, and now father to our 3 babies. I pray God continues to bless our marriage!
