These are two great workouts to do at home, quick and you burn lots of calories! Sometimes we think that we have to work out extremely hard to get a good workout. I think it's great to work out and give it everything you got. But there are some days you have no energy and no time. These quick workout are great and effective!

Life Style: Valentine's for less than $30

Valentine's has always been one of my favorite holidays! It has to be for my love of pink, and the romance on the air. I put together a few items that are too cute not to share.


Recipe Tuesday: Homemade baby food

Baby Bullet Steamer

I blended it in the Ninja single serve. I am thinking about getting a Baby Bullet blender to keep the baby food separate from our containers.

You can freeze them in these Munchkin cups to use at a later time.

Since we are trying to eat clean, I am also making the babies their food at home. I have used these Sprout Organic pouches, but the babies prefer homemade food as well. A great book to use, Cooking for Baby, is a great resource.

Homemade Baby Food
1) Use organic veggies: Squash, carrots, sweet potatoes are great first baby foods
2) Cut up the veggies in small pieces
3) Steam them in a steamer. I really like our Baby Bullet Steamer! (You can also just simply boil it in a pot)
4) Put it in a blender. I used my Ninja. Blend well.
5) Serve warm or freeze the remaining portion.

As the babies get older, I will not have to blend their food any more, and just be able to steam the veggies and smash with a fork.

Here is another mix of prints, gingham and stripes. I almost wore a plain black skirt, but I decided on my stripes one instead to make the outfit a little more fun : ) I never thought to pair this sweater with this shirt, but it works, since it's in the same family of colors.

Baby News: Twin Baby Favorites 4-6 months

1. Wubbanub- A favorite of my twins. They have them in all different colors and animals. I just wish I would have gotten them sooner. The twins are outgrowing pacis at this age (6 months now).

2. Teether- The twins turned 4 months and started teething, but no teeth yet. These teethers are great frozen as well.

3. Earth's Best Rice Cereal- They started rice cereal at 4 months. A great first starting food and healthy as well.

4. Munchkin suction bowls- Sticks to the surface. Perfect so there is no moving and grabbing of bowls.

5. Bumbo seat- I used this with my oldest as well. Great for practicing sitting.

6. Lamaze toys- The twins love animals. This little toy has a crinkle to the wings and they love the noise and all the colors.

7. Jumperoo- We can leave the babies in here for hours : ) They love all the little toys and activities. And gives mommy time to cook dinner.

8. Bath seat- I give the babies a bath one at a time with their big brother. This is great now that they are sitting, and can play in the bath tub with big brother.

9. Delta Umbrella Stroller- a great lightweight stroller for quick runs. It's small enough and simple to take down.

It's Friday! And I'm home with the kids because it's freezing outside. And we can't drive in Houston in regular weather, much less when there is ice on the roads. Lol But seriously, so glad to spend time with my 3 littles today.
About the outfits: I love how a simple long sleeve t-shirt can work for both weekend and work. I'm all about finding so many ways to remix my closet. Pair simple with elegant, and fancy with plain. You'll have a great look and your wallet will thank you : )

Life Style: Fit Wednesday

I am always looking for ways to make this blog a place where people can get inspiration. Whether it's fashion, cooking, photography and inspiration in general. I wanted to share something else I am passionate about and that is being healthy and fit. I had to work my way back after having my twins (and 15 weeks of bed rest!). I am not where I was before I had the twins, but I know if I continue to have good habits by working out and eating healthy, I will get there. I am very inpatient and expected to see results immediately(seriously!), but I have to remind myself of everything my body went through to bring my twins into this world healthy. I shared my green smoothie recipe yesterday. My hubby and I are trying to incorporate these into our morning routine daily. I love how the Ninja is a quick single serve solution so we can make our smoothie to our preference. We are also trying to get the kids used to being outdoors and taking a walk with them when the weather permits. And, yes, I am on the hunt for a double jogging stroller (want the Bob) because I tried running with this one and the wheels are going to give out on me. LOL Yes, I at least tried : )

Here are a few things we are doing to modify our family lifestyle:
1) Healthy breakfast (check out my green smoothie recipe)
2) 30 minutes (at least) of exercise 4-5 days a week. I don't like to run. But it is the best workout to shed extra pounds in my opinion. I will alternate with Insanity or even Pinterest workouts. I think we will get T25 very soon as well. (Sean T from Insanity and now T25 is awesome!) I love Zumba, but with 3 kids, night gym classes do not work : (
3) Add more fruits and veggies to our diet
4) Limit the sweets. I have such a big sweet tooth and my body craves it. I will seriously skip a meal, just so I can have dessert. Obviously, not a good thing. So, limiting it to every other day and small amounts.
5) Watch calorie intake and limit carbs.

So tell me, how are you staying fit this new year? I am always looking for different workouts to try. And remember, I think you have to mentally prepare yourself to have the energy to work out 4-5 days per week. Remind yourself how great you feel after a work out. I tell myself, "You will not regret that work out!". So leave a gym bag in your car, and talk yourself into going straight to the gym after work (and before picking up the kids).

I am wearing mint, again, and wanted to show you a way to dress up a regular long sleeve tee for work. I am remixing a lot of my closet lately, and always looking for ways to wear things for work and weekend. I added my animal print cardigan, and snakeskin pumps to dress up the tee.

Recipe Tuesday: Green Smoothie

A yummy and healthy smoothie to start off your morning. One of our new year resolutions is to eat cleaner. As in, more fruits and veggies, less things from a box, etc. I have been buying fruit and just separating in Ziploc bags and freezing them. We are so bad about letting food go bad and just tossing it. So by freezing them, I am able to keep fruit in our house much longer.

Ingredients: (Using single serve cup on Ninja blender. You can double the ingredients in regular blender)

1/2 banana
2 or 3 small strawberries
2 or 3 pieces of pineapple
1/2 cup of kale, spinach and chard (I like the Simple Truth Organics brand)
1 cup of almond milk
1 tablespoon of flaxseed
Couple of ice cubes

Mix it all well and enjoy!

Happy Monday!
Here is a weekend look for you guys. (I told you I am loving my black vest!). A fun way to add color to black is to wear a bright color like mint. And a perfect color to get ready for spring : ) One thing I have learned (of many things) from other bloggers is to wear layers instead of adding a plain black coat. I was warm with this vest at night and did not need to add a coat. Gotta love Houston winters. Booties always add a youth vibe to the an outfit as well.
