Dress: Old Navy // Shoes: Guess via DSW // Bag: Target // Earrings: Stella & Dot // Necklace: Stella & Dot // Sunglasses: Amazon

Happy Wednesday,

Wrap dresses are the classic staple item in a women's closet, so I've read. Now I know why! Such a versatile and flattering piece that will work on most body types (win-win in my book). I know you guys see it on here a lot that I love items that I can wear mostly for work, but also for the weekend. This dress will definitely work with wedges or flats for my busy weekends with the family.

I tried using a tripod to take pictures and they came out fuzzy. Ah.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Polka dots and lace and Lilly for Target

Top: Nordstrom (in other colors)// Skirt: Forever 21 (similar) // Blazer: Loft (old) // Bag: Stella & Dot (Similar) // Necklace: Stella&Dot // Heels: Ralph Lauren via Marshalls (old)

Whew, it's Monday! What a weekend. If you follow me on Instagram (@katherine0414) then you know it was a busy and crazy weekend. I was able to score a few pieces from Lilly Pulitzer launch at Target. It was so much fun to actually get a few things. I know I don't need any of it, especially my daughter, but I was really impressed with the quality and fun prints. Yes, Target really did do it again. Now I'm really on shopping freeze. Which is a good thing, since I could wear this top all.the.time. I wore it last week for work (pictured on this post) and wore it again yesterday for a late lunch with B's family. And you will see it again :)

From top left: Ava- my mini shopping buddy. She loved all her Lilly stuff.
I bought a toddler dress (4/5), toddler eyelet top (18 months), crop eyelet top (4/5) and shorts (girls 6).
The only dress I bought for myself. Love it more when I tried it on. It's a busy pattern so I put a belt on to define my waist.
A few more items I bought in store- make up bags, beach blanket, plates, martini glasses, headband, bobby pins and nail polish.

I have 3 more items that have shipped that I was able to get online before site crashed. I have 4 more items that show processing but no email confirmation. Don't think I will ever see those items! :(
Overall, I loved everything at Lilly for Target. I don't like the response some customers have expressed. It was a fun experience!

Here are some tips that I picked up from shopping this collection:

1) Set a budget! You will quickly blow throw it but keeping a budget will keep you conscious of how much you really want to spend.
2) Browse the look book days before and save your favorites.
3) Set up a Target account and better yet, apply for Red card if you don't have one. This always gives you free shipping no matter how much you spend.
4) Online Shopping- Twitter and Instagran is your best friend. I was checking Target online every hour starting at 9pm. Right before midnight, some links were leaked. If you really wanted to score some items, you had to be on the lookout. I was able to buy the pineapple sandals this way. Don't be undecisive. I had a shift dress ready to buy and took too long to add to cart, it was gone in minutes.
At around midnight, Twitter and Instagram accounts announced Midnight launch (PST). We had to wait for West coast to hit midnight. At that point, I knew I had better chance getting girl stuff than women. Midnight came, and I had my iPad and iPhone open. I went straight to toddler maxi dress and sandals. Bought each one separately. I have all 3 items on the way.
5) In store- get there early. Pick a store that you know will not be as crowded. The selection might not be as good, but it's better than nothing. We have about 4 Targets within 10 mile radius. We went way out of our way to another Target. Got there at 830am. No lines and got quite a few things. The Target closest to my house sold out of everything in 5 minutes. (I laughed thinking about us crazy shopaholics. It made Cnn!)
6) Check back for in store returns. The collection and most of them at Target are limited. This collection has a 14 day return policy. I don't think there'll be too many returns though. Anything I don't want, I will sell (for same price!) to close friends or give them as gifts.
Another note, shame on those people making huge profits on EBay!

How was your weekend? Have a great Monday!

Creme and orange

Top: Piperlime (similar) // Skirt: Piperlime (similar) // Shoes: Target // Bag: Rebecca Minkoff via Marshalls (similar for less) // Necklace: Stella & Dot // Bracelets: Stella & Dot (1, 2)

Here are a couple of items I recently got from Piperlime during a promo sale. It seems that I just found them online and they have such an awesome selection! But they are shutting their online site at the end of the month. I'm hoping for another huge sale before they do : )
It's a rather simple outfit but classic pieces with a pop of color with my skirt and necklace.

Hope you guys have a great Thursday!

Blush with lace and a Firmoo review

Hi guys!
Where did the week go?! It's always a great thing when it's Friday and you're wondering how the week went by so quickly. I'm loving the warmer weather we've been having. I am trying to wear all my blazers and cardigans as much as I can, since in about 3 weeks, I will have to put them away. We are starting to feel the humidity already, but I'm sure some would gladly take the warmer temps.

I love light colors in Spring. I paired my blush blazer and lace blouse with white pants for a romantic take on a rather casual work look. Of course I had to throw in a bit of color and added my floral pumps. I've had these for so long and only wear them in the Spring for some reason : )

Firmoo contacted me to try out their eyeglasses. I was very impressed with the quality and style of their eyeglasses! I wear contacts during the day but I was in need of a pair of prescription glasses in the evenings and on days my allergies are too bad to wear contacts. I picked out this pair and their customer service was very helpful in answering my questions. They came with a nice sturdy case and professional cloth for cleaning. They have a wide range of prescription glasses, reading glasses and sunglasses. And most importantly, they are extremely affordable! You can order your pair online here.

A striped dress

Happy Monday!
I hope you all had a great weekend. We had such a wonderful weekend! The weather wasn't too bad, and we were able to enjoy being outdoors all weekend. I wore this dress two different ways on Sunday. I feel like I'm doing a great job "re-building" my wardrobe and trying to buy versatile pieces that I can wear for both work and weekend.

Dress: Old Navy // Blazer: Marshalls // Bag: Kenneth Cole Reaction // Heels: Mossimo via Target // Earrings: Stella & Dot // Necklace: Stella & Dot // Belt: EBay

I wore the first look for church for Easter Sunday. I added a blazer and heels to dress up this dress. I decided to belt my dress to give it a more sophisticated look. I usually steer away from "looser" styles of dresses, but decided to size up with this dress to make it more work/ church appropriate.

Dress: Old Navy // Jacket: Old Navy // Wedges: Guess via DSW (similar) // Bag: Rebecca Minkoff // Earrings: Stella & Dot // Necklace: Stella & Dot , Jared // Bracelets: Stella & Dot 1,2 // Sunglasses: Maui Jim

I wore my favorite new light denim jacket and wedges to my family's Easter/ birthday bbq after church. I also changed up my necklace to a more "casual" piece to keep the look more casual.

Overall, I have a feeling this will be a favorite dress of mine. I might wear it with a boyfriend cardigan and pumps for work, or change it up and wear with converse for another weekend look.

What other pieces in your wardrobe are the most versatile for you?
Thanks for reading!

Coral and chambray

Top: Piperlime (similar) // Pants: Old Navy // Jacket: Old Navy // Shoes: Target // Bag: Kenneth Cole Reaction (similar from F21) // Sunglasses: Jessica Simpson (similar) // Earrings: Stella & Dot // Necklace: Stella & Dot // Belt: Ebay

Remember these black shoes and how much I loved them? Well, I bought the cognac ones too. Love these even more. And I "had" to buy half a size smaller since it was the very last pair. I'll squeeze my toes in them, thank you very much : ) And then my sister came to the rescue. She found my size and I gave her mine. Thanks sis! But seriously, I have a huge love for cognac anything. Goes with pretty much anything :) And I'm also loving this light chambray jacket. Great jacket for you guys with a little more casual work environment. I can easily swap mine for a blazer to make it more work appropriate.

Anyways, I hope you all have a wonderful Easter weekend filled with love and loved ones. I'm grateful to celebrate Jesus on this day and to be surrounded by the ones I love most.
